The Alfreton reserve will be sprayed this weekend. The City use Leopard 200, active herbicide is Quizalofop-p- ethyl 200 g/L for grass spraying in bushland. This is the only way to keep down the invasive weeds to keep some of the native plants growing.

Please reply to glengarry.ps@education.wa.edu.au if you are an adult happy to stand on a track post for children to run by. Training will be from 8:45 to 9:05 am on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please collect your Hi Viz vest and I.D. Card by 8:40, on the oval…it’s easy but essential to ensure children are safe for the whole course. Cross country running helps develop strong mental skills and builds an improved sense of discipline towards running, other sports and life in general.
If you have any solid wooden poles please reply. Tapping sticks are quite expensive to buy so re-using wood or thick pvc pipe would be great. The sticks need to be between 20 and 25 cm long and between 2 1/2 and 4 cm thick, with smoothed-off ends. and more resources: I can make this caterpillar, so if you have an old air mattress please bring it in.
Harmony the black cockatoo from Kaarakin. Many thanks to everyone who chipped in to support the Kaarakin rescue centre. The two beautiful parrots and the two volunteers were well received by the children and many intelligent questions were answered. It was obvious that children had been well prepared by their teachers.
