House Athletics is over

Many thanks again to all of you who helped in some way, whether it be on the P&C stall or cheering for your child. It was a wonderful day!
I am now writing up the team for the coming Inter-school Athletics Carnival. I wish to reiterate that it is our policy to put our strongest team in. Children have had a chance to participate in all House events but must be the best to compete at inter-school level. There may still be a few challenges, as per the policy. Children should be prepared for this.
As always, constructive feedback is appreciated and will be carefully considered. There was an issue with the Kindergarten races:-
The Kindergarten children waited a long time for their race, then when it was time, spectating children were dismissed for recess. This was disappointing for the children and their families.
After some discussion with various parents and staff (and I haven’t had a chance to speak with all teachers yet), we are considering running the Kindy races straight after the Pre-primary next year. This may not eat into the timetable, as they could race to a short finish line – set up with agility poles- allowing the gate operator to calibrate the gates.
Children and teachers need a short recess to get to the toilets before the Tabloid Games. Another option is to just allow the Kindys to have some play races on the track and leave the event off the program, which is what used to happen due to limited time.
Any other ideas?
